The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on August 19, 2026, issued a circular regarding enhancements in the NSDL Depository System w.e.f. August 28, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•NSDL has introduced enhancements to strengthen regulatory compliance and standardize the capture of details relating to regulatory/statutory orders for Freeze/Unfreeze instructions initiated through the NSDL eDPM System.
•Participants will be required to capture the Regulatory Authority Details, Order Type and Order Date while freezing demat accounts, wherever applicable. Regulatory Authority Details must include the issuing official’s name, address, phone number and email, with “Not available” specified where details are absent.
•The corresponding ISO tags have been introduced in the Transaction Upload and COD formats under UDiFF Version 3.0.1.2.
•The enhancements will be deployed in the production environment from EOD August 28, 2026, and Participants must make necessary system and operational arrangements.
